On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Health and Safety Manager for a 12 month contract based in either Crewe, Bletchley, Birmingham or Manchester.

As a Health and Safety Manager , your main responsibilities will be to:
- Provide expert Health & Safety advice and guidance to senior management , ensuring compliance with current and emerging legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate Health & Safety risks, identify options, and support the development of recommendations and action plans to address compliance and operational challenges .
- Develop, implement, review, and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards across the department.
- Lead and support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture by proactively delivering guidance, raising awareness, and driving compliance at all organisational levels.
- Support line managers with complex or high-risk Health & Safety matters, providing expert advice and guidance to enable informed decision -making on a case-by-case basis.
Essential:
- Demonstrable Health & Safety experience providing advice, guidance, and assurance within a complex organisational environment.
- NEBOSH qualification (General Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification).
- Knowledge and practical application of CDM Regulations and associated duties, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.
- Experience of developing, implementing, and reviewing Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Experience of conducting accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and provide expert advice on complex or high-risk Health & Safety matters.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
