About this role
Job Description
Thomson Reuters' CIO Strategy & Operations team brings together CIO Strategy, AI Transformation, and the Project Management Office to align priorities, govern execution, and provide the platforms and insights that enable the CIO organization to deliver outcomes at scale. As the organization's technology transformation agenda accelerates — spanning AI adoption, platform modernization, and enterprise-scale change — the team is expanding to add senior practitioners who can own complex outcomes from strategy through to delivery. As a Manager / Senior Manager – AI Transformation, you will personally own delivery of high-visibility programs spanning multiple business domains and technologies, moving fluidly between problem structuring, business analysis, program leadership, and senior stakeholder management. This role suits a consultant from a Big 4, strategy, or technology consulting background who wants to see their thinking through to results — shaping the approach and then delivering it, staying close to the work rather than handing it off.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure ambiguous problems: take a loosely defined business or technology challenge and break it into a clear, actionable plan covering hypotheses, workstreams, dependencies, and success metrics.
- Translate business strategy into actionable program plans, managing scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and benefits realization, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and measurable outcomes.
- Analyze data to drive decisions: build business cases, cost/value models, and performance dashboards, working directly in the data rather than waiting on a BI team.
- Lead programs end-to-end, personally owning delivery of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from conception through completion, balancing scope, risk, budget, and timeline.
- Maintain governance structures, operating rhythms, PMO standards, tooling, and methodologies to ensure consistency and rigor across the portfolio.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact program delivery, providing thought leadership to navigate complexity.
- Flex across the portfolio, moving between programs and responsibilities as priorities shift, and, where scope requires, lead and develop a team of project managers.
- Manage senior stakeholders: run steering committees, influence VP-level decision-making, and manage competing priorities across business and technology leaders.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for senior stakeholders, providing clear, timely status reporting and maintaining strong communication throughout the program lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in management consulting (Big 4, strategy, or technology consulting) or equivalent in-house transformation roles, typically developed to Senior Consultant or Manager level and ready to step into full end-to-end ownership.
- A demonstrated blended skill set delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple business domains and technologies — equally comfortable translating data into insights, partnering with SMEs on strategy and requirements, and owning end-to-end program delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior leadership, navigate ambiguity, and manage competing priorities.
- A track record of leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from scoping through delivery, with excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to produce executive-ready materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity over process-heavy environments.
- Exposure to AI or data transformation programs, with the ability to engage credibly on AI adoption, platform modernization, or automation-driven change initiatives.
- Experience operating in a regulated or professional services industry (legal, financial services, tax, compliance), with comfort working to enterprise-grade governance and risk standards.
