A cleaning and edge prep role involves cleaning surfaces, removing residue or debris, and preparing surface edges (such as for painting, sealing, manufacturing, or flooring) to meet precise quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Surface Cleaning: Sweep, vacuum, dust, and wash work areas or floors using appropriate detergents and equipment.
- Edge Preparation: Scrape, sand, grind, or clean specific joints, borders, and edges to remove old sealant, rust, burrs, or grease.
- Chemical Mixing: Mix water, detergents, or specialized acidic solutions safely according to product specifications.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Check prepared edges and cleaned zones to ensure they are smooth, dry, and free of contaminants before the next production or finishing step.
- Safety Compliance: Wear proper protective equipment and follow health and safety protocols when handling tools and chemicals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot tiny flaws, residue, or uneven edges.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand, bend, and use hand or power tools for long shifts.
- Tool Familiarity: Experience with basic hand tools, scrapers, buffers, or mechanical cleaning devices.
- Must be able to operator forklift
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
- Two years of job experience or equivalent in demonstrated experience and ability.
