# Full-Time, Supervisor, Theatrical Services (Audio/Visual)

Position Overview:
The Audio/Visual Supervisor leads and manages the daily technical operations, maintenance, and personnel of the A/V Technical Services team across park attractions, theatrical spaces, and special events. This leadership role oversees preventative maintenance programs (Green Tagging/Shutdown), trouble call resolution, project installations, and corporate/park event setups. The Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, team development, budget tracking, and ensuring the highest standards of reliability and safety for all park-wide audio, video, camera, and control network systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Scheduling: Supervise, mentor, and train seasonal and full-time A/V technicians; manage timekeeping (Kronos), work schedules, daily shift assignments, and activity logs.
- Hiring & Development: Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training seasonal technicians, ensuring high technical standards and safe work practices across the team.
- Preventative Maintenance & Daily Operations: Supervise daily systems inspections, morning Green Tagging, evening shutdown procedures, and preventative maintenance on all park A/V, ride audio, camera, games, photo, and background sound systems.
- Trouble Call & Service Management: Coordinate and supervise immediate response to field trouble calls, ensuring efficient diagnosis, repair, and follow-up in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Advanced System Programming & Maintenance: Program, configure, and troubleshoot Q-SYS, DSP networks, BrightSign digital signage, camera systems, video projection, and PLC-integrated audio/visual control systems.
- Event & Production Support: Plan, supervise, and execute high-quality A/V setups for corporate presentations, park meetings, special functions, and park-wide seasonal events.
- Capital Projects & Installations: Oversee installation, cabling/fiber infrastructure pulls, equipment tuning, and seasonal strike/install projects across park venues.
- Budgeting & Procurement: Track departmental project budgets, initiate equipment and supply orders via procurement systems (SAP), generate work orders, and maintain shop inventory.
- Facility & Vehicle Standards: Ensure park safety targets, cleanliness, and organization are maintained across technician shops, storage facilities, job sites, and department vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school, college coursework, or degree in Audio/Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Supervisory Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing technical crews, project timelines, and operational workflows.
- Technical Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience installing, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing professional A/V systems, video projectors/screens, commercial audio DSPs, and control networks.
- System Expertise: Working knowledge and programming familiarity with Q-SYS / audio DSP architectures, digital video signage, network switches, and basic PLC integration.
- Fabrication & Repair Skills: Practical experience with cable termination, soldering, fiber optics, diagnostic testing equipment, power tools, and bench-repair troubleshooting.
- Administration: Familiarity with scheduling software, procurement systems (e.g., SAP), and standard office software.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface professionally with executive leadership, park operations, and across technical departments.
- Licensing: Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid state driver's license and the ability to obtain company driving clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk extensive distances across park grounds carrying tools and equipment.
- Comfortable working on aerial work platforms (Genie lifts 20–40 ft) and ladders.
- Comfortable working at extreme elevated heights (including coaster structures up to 200 ft).
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb, and kneel for extended periods with complete flexibility.
- Environmental & Schedule Flexibility:
- Comfortable working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, humidity, rain, cold).
- Full availability to work varied shifts based on operational needs, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holiday event periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturer and industry certifications (e.g., Q-SYS Level 1/2, Dante Certification, AVIXA CTS).
- Direct experience with theme park, festival, or resort A/V infrastructure, attractions, and park-wide background audio systems.
- Working familiarity with pneumatic, mechanical, or show control integration interfaces.
Compensation: 22.00 an hour USD
