What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: Support site turnarounds as a Mechanical focused Turnaround Planner.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Pre-Overhaul: Prepare job plans for all work in assigned area using, JMS, materials request, contractor instructions.
- Attach all relevant documentation to the plan, including: Drawings
- Photos
- Test procedures
- Cleaning procedures
- Validate job plans as part of the validation team.
- Prepare workbooks for all supervisors in assigned area with copies of all paperwork needed.
- Work with all foremen to assist work familiarization.
- During Execution: Collect status updates for all jobs in assigned areas and provide updates at the daily schedule update meeting.
- Attend daily SCR meeting to understand new work for their area.
- Ensure that SCR work is planned and passed to scheduler for adding to the schedule.
- Monitor SCR material availability to allow management of SCR work.
- Work with foremen to identify changes needed on regular job plans and make the changes in PlanIT for future re-use.
- Ensure seamless handoff of work from trades to QA/QC and then to Operations.
- Ensure all job packs are properly closed out.
Ideal Background
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines.
- Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences.

- Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs.
- Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts.
- Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
- Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
Other:
Per-diem at the going GSA rate is offered to those who qualify and can be discussed.
