JOB SUMMARY:
Performs routine technical tasks and simple laboratory procedures to support the work of technical and professional laboratory staff.
JOB DUTIES:
15% - Support of library preparation for sequencing of samples at the Institute of Human Genetics.

70% - Assist in data analysis (identification of datasets, download of datasets, quality control, submission of data into pipeline with support of others as needed)

15% - Project communication duties within and outside the laboratory

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in a related health care setting or in a clinical or research laboratory setting; or 12 semester hours of academic training in biology and/or chemistry; or registration as a Certified Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent registry; or successful completion of a formal program of instruction for laboratory assistants at a hospital or academic institution.

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
