Job Title: Clinical Research Coordinator Job Description This full-time Clinical Research Coordinator role based in Falls Church, VA offers an opportunity to support an active cardiology clinical trial and contribute directly to successful study enrollment. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and play a key role in pre-screening participants, coordinating study activities, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position requires hands-on clinical research experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with participants and research staff. Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed chart reviews using electronic medical records (EMR) to identify potential study participants who meet protocol eligibility criteria.
- Perform phone screening of potential participants to assess eligibility, explain study procedures, and address initial questions.
- Lead and support patient recruitment activities for the clinical trial, including outreach, follow-up, and maintaining recruitment logs.
- Coordinate participant appointments, including scheduling and sending reminders to ensure timely attendance and protocol adherence.
- Enter study data accurately into designated systems and perform data verification to maintain high-quality, reliable datasets.
- Manage query resolution by reviewing data discrepancies, clarifying information with research staff, and updating records as needed.
- Conduct participant follow-up activities, including telephone or electronic outreach, to collect ongoing study information and reinforce visit compliance.
- Support regulatory documentation processes, including maintaining study files, organizing source documents, and ensuring proper storage and version control.
- Maintain secure and organized source documentation in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and privacy requirements.
- Provide lab kit support, including preparing kits for study visits, tracking specimen collection needs, and coordinating with study staff for proper handling.
- Collaborate closely with investigators, research staff, and clinical teams to ensure smooth day-to-day trial operations.
- Apply attention to detail and follow study protocols precisely to uphold data integrity and participant safety throughout the trial.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in an active clinical research setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical trials or research studies.
- At least 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) and Electronic Data Capture systems (EDC).
- Proficiency in chart review and pre-screening patients to assess eligibility against study criteria.
- Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and adherence to clinical research regulatory standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced research environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with participants and research staff by phone and in person.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, documentation, and query resolution.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting participant recruitment strategies for clinical trials, including outreach and follow-up.
- Familiarity with clinical trial workflows, including scheduling study visits and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines within a structured MondayFriday schedule.
- Comfort working with various research systems and tools related to data entry, documentation, and source document management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with participants and collaborate effectively with research staff.
- Commitment to ethical research conduct and maintaining confidentiality of participant information.

This is a Contract position based out of Falls Church, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
