About this role
The Machinist will work in the machine shop supporting operations by setting up and operating manual lathes, manual milling machines, hydraulic presses, and various saws. The role focuses on tooling fabrication and reworking production components that fall outside the original drawing call‑outs, ensuring they meet quality standards before returning to the line. Moderate machining experience and strong blueprint reading skills are preferred.
- High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
- 2+ years of hands‑on machining experience with manual equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of machining tolerances, surface finish, and material properties.
- Ability to set up and operate hydraulic presses and various saws.
- Basic math skills (algebra, geometry) for calculations and measurements.
- Familiarity with shop safety practices and PPE usage.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime or shift changes as production demands.
