Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide medical care to patients in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital.

This PRN position is ideal for an NP who is comfortable working independently, making clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. You will play an important role in managing patient care, supporting rehabilitation goals, and helping patients progress toward discharge and greater independence.

Schedule

- PRN – As Needed

- Overnight: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

- Every other Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

What Youll Do

- Provide primary and ongoing medical care to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting within the scope of Nurse Practitioner practice.

- Evaluate patients, obtain comprehensive medical histories, and perform physical examinations.

- Assess patients' medical, functional, social, and other healthcare needs.

- Develop and implement appropriate plans of care based on patient needs and established clinical protocols.

- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and treatment modalities within the scope of practice and applicable protocols.

- Make sound clinical decisions independently and effectively manage patient care in situations requiring timely judgment.

- Document comprehensive assessments, treatment, and the patient's course of medical and rehabilitative care.

- Prepare comprehensive discharge documentation reflecting the patient's medical and rehabilitation course and outcomes.

- Assist with discharge planning and coordinate appropriate support services before and after discharge.

- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

- Assist with admissions to other hospital programs as needed.

- Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to quality patient care.

- Maintain compliance with MRC policies, procedures, medical staff requirements, and applicable professional standards.

Qualifications

What Were Looking For

- Current Mississippi Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/NP) license .

- Current narcotics permit .

- Current BLS and ACLS certifications .

- Eligible for and able to maintain credentialing through the MRC Medical Staff Office.

- Ability to maintain participation as a provider with Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable managed care programs.

- Minimum of 3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred , particularly in Family Practice or Critical Care.

- Previous experience using an electronic health record (EHR) .

- Healthcare supervisory experience preferred.

- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Commitment to continued professional growth and development.
