A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Public Private Partnerships, this leadership role will contribute to the Company's public/private partnership development strategy, which leverages Hunt Companies' established P3 capabilities, access to capital, project structuring capabilities, and deep development and construction expertise. This role will act as project lead in assigned pursuits, proposal development, and execution of awarded projects, including developing project-specific processes and project teams and managing all decisions with and communications to owners, lenders, and contractors, with occasional oversight from supervisor. Depending on the time required to execute awarded projects, this position requires 30-50% of time dedicated to early and middle game business development in new markets and sectors. Marketing, capital markets, development operations, project management, and construction teams will support this role.
What you will do
- Takes the lead role in developing responses to assigned RFPs and management of the proposal process with winning strategies.
- Development of relationships with potential public sector clients specifically in the social infrastructure space.
- Development of relationships with contractors and architects that build a pipeline of new opportunities offering best-in-class building solutions.
- Development of project-specific processes that ensure the successful execution of awarded projects in compliance with the various project agreements at the projected returns.
- Participates in contract negotiations and leads assigned task teams during pre-development to reach financial close within the anticipated timeframe and margins.
- Develops winning strategies and project proposals to secure new business.
- Integrates related Hunt Companies functional teams in a collaborative manner when possible.
- Transitions the operating teams and oversees project delivery.
- Frequently speaks in industry conferences and participates in leadership roles in P3 industry groups.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor degree in a real estate related field – Property Valuation, Real Estate, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Economics, Business or similar. required.
Experience Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of development and project management experience in the P3 space required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Commercial real estate acumen and ability to teach others.
- Experience winning new business and setting up delivery operation is essential.
- Demonstrated success in working with campus and local authorities to achieve project objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in real estate development and construction management.
- I have significant experience with social infrastructure development and operations, deep relationships with public sector clients, and experience supporting the social infrastructure P3 industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to influence, build relations, and present at all levels in the organization and with industry professionals.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Excel and some financial modeling capability.
- Strong process management, project management, time management and people management skills.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A high degree of professionalism and a strong work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity required.
- Willingness to work extended hours as required.
- Requires a self-motivated, team player who pays close attention to detail and can efficiently shift focus between various projects while adhering to demanding timelines.
- Must be able to independently manage time effectively to efficiently work on varied and concurrent projects with conflicting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in public and private settings, including with community stakeholders, government staff members, legislators, design workshops, one-on-one meetings with authorities, board meetings with partners, and investment/finance committees.
