Job Opportunity: Contract Payroll Consultant in Cincinnati, OH

(October 2026 – Mid-January 2027)

Full-Time Contract Opportunity | 40 Hours/Week | Onsite Monday-Friday

Are you a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and keeping operations running smoothly? We're partnering with a well-established and growing Cincinnati-area organization to identify a Contract Payroll Specialist to support the team during a critical business period.

This is a full-time contract assignment running from October through mid-January. The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and hands-on experience with UKG Pro.

As the Contract Payroll Consultant , you'll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing while supporting payroll-related employee inquiries and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Process biweekly payroll using UKG Pro for a multi-state employee population.

- Ensure payroll accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit contributions.

- Audit payroll data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Maintain payroll records and employee information while ensuring confidentiality.

- Partner with Human Resources and Finance to support payroll-related processes and reporting.

- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.

- Assist with payroll compliance activities and year-end payroll preparations.

- Support benefits and deduction administration as it relates to payroll processing.

- Generate reports and provide payroll-related data as requested.

- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of payroll processing experience.

- Hands-on experience with UKG Pro is required.

- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

- Experience processing payroll for multi-state employees.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification, preferred.

- Experience partnering closely with HR and Finance teams, preferred.

- Experience supporting payroll audits and year-end payroll activities, preferred.

- Background working in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or related industries, preferred.
