About this role

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Java Developer experienced with the Atlassian Suite. In this role, you will set up and manage the on-premises Atlassian tool suite for various federal customers.

This position will require 100% onsite work in Washington, DC for at least the first 60 days; 50% remote work may be available after this timeframe based on performance and client needs.

Responsibilities

- Analyze and inventory existing division-level Atlassian, Jira, Confluence, and other information sites to identify what content and services already exist, where duplication occurs, and what gaps drive unnecessary requests.

- Design the information architecture, service catalog structure, and intake taxonomy that determines how users are guided through the landing page and how their requests are ultimately categorized and routed using Atlassian.

- Develop dynamic, conditional intake forms that capture requests for new enterprise technology, applications, or services only after existing options have been surfaced and ruled out through the self-service portal.

- Build, design, and develop system architecture, workflows, and technical documentation for the enterprise service management portal and its underlying governance model.

- Install, configure, test, and maintain Atlassian, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and the automation and integration components that connect the central landing page and knowledge base to existing division sites.

- Perform system upgrades, migrations, and ongoing consolidation of divisional sites into the central platform in accordance with change management policies.

- Monitor portal usage and search analytics, particularly where users fail to find existing information and submit unnecessary requests and recommends improvements to government leadership in a timely manner, either in writing or in-person.

- Create and maintain documentation, including system diagrams, governance workflow procedures, and user guidance for navigating the central landing page and knowledge base.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience working with development of the Atlassian Suite including Jira and Confluence

- The ability to implement and manage governance workflows, approval chains, and escalation paths that route intake requests to the correct division or review authority when self-service does not resolve the need.

- Experience installing, testing and configuring within the Atlassian Suite of tools

- Previous experience implementing role-based access and security protocols ensuring the centralized platform respects compartmentalization across divisions while still enabling discovery.

- The ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the development, integration, and deployment of the self-service portal, intake forms, and governance workflows.

- Experience ensuring compliance with enterprise cybersecurity policies, federal IT standards.

- Proven success collaborating with division stakeholders, governance boards, and security teams to ensure the central portal accurately reflects and consolidates existing services.

- The ability to work on site in DC five days a week

- The ability to hold and maintain an active Top Secret Clearance
