Associate, Workplace Specialist (AV)

About the Role

As an Associate, Workplace Specialist (AV), you will support the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of modern audio/visual and collaboration technology across conference rooms, meeting spaces, and digital workplace environments. This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking hands-on experience with AV systems, video conferencing platforms, control systems, digital signage, and enterprise collaboration tools. You will partner with senior engineers, facilities teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to help deliver reliable, user-friendly meeting and presentation experiences.

What You’ll Do

● Assist with audio/visual systems design, installation, testing, and documentation for conference rooms and collaboration spaces.

● Support video conferencing solutions, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, cameras, microphones, displays, and room scheduling panels.

● Help configure, maintain, and troubleshoot AV control systems such as Crestron and Extron.

● Support digital signage, collaboration displays, and room presentation technologies.

● Provide conference room technology support, including issue triage, equipment testing, user support, and escalation when needed.

● Document installation steps, room standards, support procedures, diagrams, and equipment details.

● Partner with internal teams and vendors to validate system readiness, compatibility, reliability, and user experience.

● Follow security, compliance, change management, and operational standards when supporting AV infrastructure.

Basic Requirements

● 0–2 years of experience in audio/visual support, infrastructure support, IT support, conference room technology, or a related technical role.

● Experience or hands-on exposure with AV hardware such as displays, audio systems, cameras, microphones, speakers, cabling, and room control equipment.

● Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or similar collaboration technologies.

● Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues, document findings, and escalate complex issues appropriately.

● Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support end users and collaborate across teams.

● Foundational understanding of infrastructure, networking, system support, or technology operations.

● Ability to follow defined processes, maintain accurate documentation, and support reliable technology service delivery.

Preferred Skills/Experience

● Exposure to Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS, Shure, Logitech, Poly, Cisco, or similar AV technologies.

● Experience supporting conference rooms, training rooms, executive meeting spaces, or collaborative work environments.

● Familiarity with digital signage platforms, collaboration displays, occupancy sensors, or room scheduling systems.

● Basic understanding of network connectivity, device provisioning, firmware updates, and AV-over-IP concepts.

● Experience working with vendors, installers, facilities teams, or managed service providers.

● Interest in automation, monitoring tools, scripting, or process improvement for AV support workflows.

● Experience in healthcare, enterprise, or other regulated environments is helpful but not required.

Description of Travel or In-Office and Physical Requirements

● Work arrangement may vary based on business, team, and site needs.

● Occasional travel to office locations or project sites may be required for installations, upgrades, or support.

● May need to inspect conference room equipment, connect cables, move lightweight AV devices, or work around meeting room technology setups, consistent with applicable safety practices and accommodation processes.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$56,800 - $75,700
