POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic will assist the Facility Maintenance Manager with the daily upkeep of the facility's equipment. This position has a special emphasis on technology, computerized systems, safety equipment, kitchen equipment, and sporting equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Repairs all maintenance equipment according to the specifications and highest professional standards particular to each item

- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects

- Works with sharpening blades reels and bed-knifes, disassembles motors and performs general overhauling, grinds valves, repairs transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, steering systems, starters, generators, universal joints, hydraulic systems, high pressured pumps and valves, install breaks , batteries, tires, wiring and glass and welding work

- Checks machines on a daily basis to ensure each machine is ready to go the next day

- Assists in creating, implementing, and overseeing safety rules for equipment operators and general team members

- Implements preventive maintenance programs and care for all equipment and maintain accurate records

- Notifies Facility Manager of any equipment misuse

- Keeps accurate inventory of all parts and other valuable items of equipment in the maintenance building

- Maintains cleanliness of the maintenance building

- All additional duties assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

- Must have experience working with sports facilities and associated grounds and equipment

- General knowledge of maintenance, janitorial & landscaping

- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications within a specific time period

- Must be detail-oriented

- Must be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders and fellow Team Members

- Must work well with others

- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility

- Committed to the safety and well-being of others

- Possess or ability to obtain a valid Driver's License

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Ability to lift large amounts of weight, sometimes as much as 50 pounds

- Ability to work in all weather conditions

- Work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms

- Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed

- Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust

- Ability to travel between two facilities and oversee Assistant Mechanics
