About this role

Job Description

Principal AI Transformation Consultant, Professional Services

Focus: AI Transformation Services for CoCounsel and Thomson Reuters solutions

Many in-house legal, tax, and trade teams now have access to AI. The harder question is what changes because of it: which work gets redesigned, what good looks like, what guardrails the work needs, and how leaders will know it is working.

As a Principal AI Transformation Consultant, you will help senior leaders answer those questions for the workflows that matter most, then lead the change and measure what it delivers — with CoCounsel Legal and CoCounsel for Tax and Trade at the center. You’ll work embedded with client teams, alongside Sales, our AI engineers, enablement specialists, and product teams, from the first client conversation through rollout and measured value.

Key Responsibilities:

In this opportunity as Principal AI Transformation Consultant, Professional Services, you will:

·    Lead complex transformation engagements from discovery and value hypothesis through workflow redesign where needed, proof of value adoption, and value realization.

·    Advise senior leaders on priority AI-enabled workflows and the targeted changes to roles, skills, practices, controls, and ways of working needed to scale them.

·    Shape transformation opportunities from early customer discovery through delivery planning, defining achievable outcomes, scope, approach, estimates, and statements of work with Sales and specialist teams.

·    Own the hardest calls on your engagements: the approach when the path is unclear, the tradeoffs when stakeholders disagree, and the commitments we make to the customer on scope and outcomes.

·    Set the adoption and activation strategy; diagnose and recover stalled or declining adoption, including barriers in workflow fit, confidence, risk, or customer ownership.

·    Establish value hypotheses, baselines, measures, and evidence standards so customer-facing value claims match what the data supports.

·    Work shoulder to shoulder with forward deployed AI engineers as they build against the customer’s real systems and data, shaping what gets built and turning technical possibility into workflow change that holds up in practice.

·    Bring adoption, enablement, product, and customer-success specialists into one outcome; coach consultants on complex work; and turn field learning into reusable methods and value frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

You’re a fit for the Principal AI Transformation Consultant, Professional Services role if you have:

·    Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Organizational Transformation, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

·    10+ years in professional services, management consulting, transformation consulting, or complex AI or enterprise-technology delivery.

·    Experience leading complex workflow redesign, targeted operating changes, technology-enabled adoption, and measurable customer outcomes.

·    Ability to advise executives, structure ambiguity, facilitate difficult decisions, challenge assumptions, and translate strategy into practical plans.

·    Commercial judgment in shaping opportunities, scoping work, estimating effort, and delivering against what was promised.

·    Analytical ability to combine usage, survey, operational, and stakeholder evidence into defensible recommendations and value measures.

·    Experience in legal, tax, trade, risk, compliance, or another complex regulated knowledge-work domain.

·    Strong understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, change and adoption, responsible-use considerations, and cross-functional delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

·    Experience with CoCounsel or other Thomson Reuters AI solutions and professional workflows.

·    Experience building consulting methods, playbooks, assessments, value frameworks, or service offerings.

·    Relevant change, process-improvement, project-management, or responsible-AI certification.
