Internship Program Overview:

Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is seeking a motivated and analytical Strategic Transactions & Alliances Intern to support the team responsible for technology collaborations, strategic partnerships, and business agreements across the semiconductor ecosystem. The intern will gain exposure to technology licensing, university and government collaborations, intellectual property agreements, and strategic business initiatives while partnering with business, technical, and legal stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Support the Strategic Transactions & Alliances team with technology collaboration activities involving customers, universities, government agencies, consortia, and suppliers.
- Assist with contract administration by tracking key milestones, deliverables, payment obligations, renewal dates, and other agreement requirements.
- Conduct research and analysis on semiconductor industry trends, strategic partnerships, technology ecosystems, and competitive developments.
- Support the development of presentations, reports, and business updates for internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, legal, and business teams to gather information and support ongoing initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining documentation, databases, and records associated with alliance and contract management activities.
- Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings, document action items, and support follow-up activities.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Technology Management, Public Policy, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
- Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior related internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
- Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Exposure through coursework or projects to contract management, intellectual property, business strategy, technology commercialization, or project management
- Interest in technology partnerships, licensing, business strategy, or the semiconductor industry
