The Investment & Valuation Analyst will be a key member of the Investment & Valuation (I&V) team at RWE Americas (RWEA), supporting the analysis that underpins the company's strong US growth ambitions. The Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to support the evaluation of solar, wind, and battery storage investment opportunities, including the preparation of final investment decision proposals. The Analyst will learn to work with the team's valuation models and build working relationships across key functions while gaining broad exposure across solar, wind, and battery storage. The I&V team drives value-added growth through critical analysis, strategic guidance, and rigorous governance across a growing pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy and flexible generation investments, supporting approximately $20 billion in planned US investment over the next five years. It is an ideal role for a candidate looking to build foundational power generation market expertise and learn the fundamentals of project finance.

Role Responsibilities:

- Investment Analysis, Valuation & Structuring:
Performs quantitative and qualitative analyses of solar, wind, battery storage, and flexible generation investment opportunities using existing models and templates. Collects valuation inputs from internal stakeholders and identifies inconsistencies in assumptions and data

- Decision Process & Materials:
Supports the preparation of investment decision materials, including papers and presentations for senior management

- Stakeholder Leadership & Alignment:
Collaborates across the I&V team and gathers project inputs from development, commercial, and technical functions, communicating progress clearly. Supports internal analyses and ad-hoc valuation requests while flagging scope or priority ambiguities early

- Model Quality & Governance:
Works with existing valuation models to keep inputs complete and consistent within the defined scope and assumptions. Supports quality checks on financial models and analytical outputs, flagging inconsistencies and asking clarifying questions

- Process & Tools Improvement:
Shares observations and ideas for improving investment processes, financial models, and templates based on project experience, while learning the team's digital tools

Job Requirements and Experience:

- Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar university degree required

- Previous Finance expereince required

- Proficiency in Excel; able to run existing financial models, scenarios, and sensitivities with guidance required

- Foundational knowledge of valuation methodologies, especially DCF

- Communication and presentation skills

- Interest in renewable energy or energy markets

- Knowledge & Application:
Proficient in Excel and able to run scenarios within financial models with guidance. Understands foundational financial concepts and is able to apply them to valuation, including key drivers such as capex and offtake pricing

- Complexity & Problem Solving:
Performs standard scenario analysis under clear direction and begins identifying valuation sensitivities. Demonstrates attention to detail by flagging issues and asking clarifying questions early rather than waiting

- Collaboration & Interaction:
Collects inputs from cross-functional teams and communicates clearly. Participates actively in team meetings, demonstrates curiosity, and shares progress in a digestible manner

- Scope & Ownership:
Owns discrete tasks within a broader workstream, delivering to expected quality and deadlines, and actively seeks and applies feedback

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $65,000 - $87,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
