The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for talented Senior Paralegal professionals to support the Department of Justice’s mission. Positions like this are critical and are very involved with high-profile important cases.

CACI is looking for candidates who can work in Washington, DC, but we are responsive to the impact of COVID and will be flexible and consistent with DOJ policy. Paralegal duties focus upon litigation support as we prepare for trial in the coming months. The assignments evolve and we would like to be able to add complex responsibilities for a capable candidate.

Responsibilities:

- Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor. Develops work product with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines.
- Provides high level support to attorneys in complex litigation matters including: Managing litigation support databases and case management systems; Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Leading discovery and witness preparation support efforts.
- Drafting, reviewing, and analyzing legal documents.
- Coordinating discovery, including document review and production. Conducting legal research and maintaining litigation files.
- Supporting trial preparation and assisting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.

Qualifications :

Required:

- Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
- Additionally, at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required.
- At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
- Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
- Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
- Strong technical proficiency or ability to quickly learn new litigation software such as Relativity, EverLaw or similar database tools.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
- DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US citizenship required)

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.​
