General Summary of Duties:
The part-time seasonal Coordinator, National Arts Competition will provide administrative, logistics data management, and communication support to the National Arts Competition team. This team member will ensure that all competition applicants are fully supported through the complete competition life cycle from application and adjudication to preparation for YoungArts Week 2027. The part-time coordinator will support in-person programming, working collaboratively with all team members to provide comprehensive and supportive artist services.
Direct Reporting:
The part-time seasonal Coordinator, National Arts Competition directly reports to Associate Director, Early Recognition Programs.
Qualifications
Essential and Other Responsibilities (perform other duties as assigned):
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to develop new planning processes for mapping out and achieving production, technical, and event needs for each season.
- Assist with application-related tasks, including troubleshooting technical issues with the Associate Director, Early Recognition Programs on the online application platform, Salesforce.
- In coordination with the Associate Director, Early Recognition Programs, assist with preparing and processing applications for adjudications.
- Processing winner registration information, identification creation, dietary restrictions sheet, medical information, etc., for in-person program attendance.
- Responsible for maintaining the on-site office to assist with in-person business needs in Miami, FL during including Adjudications Week (November 2-8, 2026) and National YoungArts Week (January 8 – 16, 2027).
- Assist with drafting, organizing, and updating Early Recognition in-person program schedules and artist itineraries in Teamup and other applications.
- Maintain positive working relationships and present a positive image of the organization when in communication with the public, patrons, clients, and artists.
Safety Responsibilities:
Adhere to all safety and security policies of the organization including those pertaining to physical safety and practices. Report any potential or actual violations to security and HR as appropriate. Applicant must successfully pass background check and complete Participant Care Training for working with minors.

Education and/or Credentialing Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or the equivalent in education and experience
- 2 + years of administrative support experience with data management. Prior experience in the arts, philanthropic, non-profit, or higher-education industries are a bonus.
- Experience beyond requirement will be considered in lieu of education requirement
Working conditions, typical physical/mental demands:
YoungArts physical campus and headquarters are in Miami, FL. This work will be performed in a hybrid (virtual and in-office) setting. Tuesdays and Thursdays are in-office days in addition to Adjudications Week (November 2-8, 2026) and National YoungArts Week (January 8 – 16, 2027).
General working hours are 9:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The nature of our work will sometimes require an adjustment to this schedule, including evenings and weekends. Team member will normally be advised in advance should the work schedule be adjusted. This role will not exceed more than 20 hours/week with exception to Adjudications Week and National YoungArts Week where this role will not exceed more than 39 hours/week.
Some travel may be required.
Compensation:
$20 per hour, 20 hours per week (max.) and up to 39 hours National YoungArts Week (January 8 – 16, 2027).
