At CI, we see a great place to work as one that is a safe place for everyone to have a voice, where people are empowered to take ownership over meaningful work, where there is an opportunity to grow through stretching themselves, where they can work on innovative products and projects, and where employees are supported and engaged in doing so.

This role is ideal for a high-performing accountant who wants to build on a strong financial reporting foundation while gaining exposure to acquisition activity, shareholder economics, complex intercompany structures, and strategic business initiatives.

You will own key aspects of the monthly close process, manage complex intercompany transactions, support acquisition-related valuation activities, and prepare investor reporting and shareholder distribution calculations. The role offers significant visibility across Finance, Corporate Development, HR, and Operations, providing an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and accelerate your career.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers across multiple legal entities.
- Lead key aspects of the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights to management.
- Prepare quarterly investor reporting packages, including share price calculations, distributions, and other shareholder-related metrics.
- Maintain financial models and supporting schedules used for shareholder reporting and governance purposes.
- Partner with Corporate Development and business leaders to support acquisition, valuation, and integration activities.
- Calculate and validate share issuance and repurchase amounts related to acquisition and rollover transactions.
- Support internal and external audits and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of accounting policies, controls, and processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and reporting effectiveness.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- CPA designation completed or nearing completion preferred.
- 3-6 years of progressive accounting, finance, or public accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting foundation.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to work with complex financial models and large datasets.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience within wealth management, asset management, investment management, private equity, or other financial services organizations.
- Exposure to acquisitions, valuations, corporate transactions, or transaction-related accounting.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and IFRS financial reporting.
- Naturally curious and interested in understanding the economics behind business and investment transactions.
- Seeks exposure beyond traditional accounting and enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business.
- Takes ownership, demonstrates initiative, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicator with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Ambitious, career-driven, and motivated to take on increasing levels of responsibility.

This role follows our in office work model and requires employees to be onsite four days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
