Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Quality Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Mission Assurance organization. This leadership role is located at Clearfield, UT .
The Quality Manger 1 will have the responsibility of defining and monitoring mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs, which will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, and safety across the inspection organization.
- Lead, develop, and manage a team responsible for final inspection of aerospace composite detail parts.
- Oversee final acceptance activities, including visual, dimensional, and documentation review against drawings, models, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal quality standards, and applicable aerospace quality system requirements.
- Direct inspection planning, acceptance criteria, training, certification, and daily execution for final inspection personnel.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve product quality issues and support production flow.
- Lead nonconformance review, containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement in first-pass yield, defect reduction, escape prevention, and overall inspection effectiveness.
- Ensure inspection tools, gauges, and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and used effectively.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Maintain accurate records, traceability, and configuration control for inspected hardware and supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements in inspection work cells to optimize workflow, throughput, and effective use of resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with at least 4 years of experience in Quality or related field
- Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain US Govt clearance and PAR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior composite manufacturing experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
