About us | He kupu mō mātou Our Kauri site was established in 1989 and is Fonterra’s northernmost site. The site produces a range of milk powders, butters, AMF and a range of specialty products. Kauri’s Skim Milk Powder evaporator remains the largest single stage evaporator in NZ!
About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga At Fonterra, keeping our people safe goes beyond compliance. As our Health & Safety Business Partner, you'll work at the heart of our operations, partnering with leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safety leadership, improve decision quality and ensure critical risks are effectively managed in real-world operating environments.
Based at our Kauri site, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with operational leaders and teams across the business. Some travel will be required to support multiple sites, build strong stakeholder relationships and provide visible, frontline Health & Safety leadership.
This is a highly influential role where you'll coach, challenge and support leaders to translate Health, Safety and Wellbeing expectations into practical action. You'll use insights from data, dashboards and operational observations to identify emerging risks, strengthen critical controls and enable proactive decision-making before issues escalate.
You'll also play a key role in driving organisational learning by leading high-quality incident and learning reviews, helping teams understand what is happening in practice, and turning those insights into meaningful, lasting improvements. Working alongside leaders, workers and HSW specialists, you'll create an environment where open conversations, continuous improvement and worker engagement thrive.

About You | Mōu You're a trusted advisor who combines strong technical Health & Safety expertise with the ability to influence, coach and challenge others in a constructive and practical way.
You build credibility quickly, establish strong relationships across all levels of an organisation, and are confident navigating complex risk discussions in operational environments. You'll bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Engineering, Human Factors or a related discipline, or be actively working towards one.
- NZISM Professional Accreditation or an equivalent recognised Health & Safety certification.
- Experience providing Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice within operational or manufacturing environments.
- Proven success coaching leaders and influencing decision-making around critical risks and risk controls.
- Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting data, trends and operational signals to inform risk-based decisions.
- The ability to identify emerging risks, challenge thinking constructively and drive practical improvements that make a real difference.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the confidence to influence without relying on formal authority.
- A learning mindset, sound judgement and the courage to have robust conversations when safety matters most.
