About this role
The Department of Pathology - Trinh Lab is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician with a strong educational background in the sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, or mathematics) to support the research and laboratory activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with lab housekeeping, animal studies and bioinformatic analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures supporting research.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Apply knowledge of research and testing procedures, and animal handling, care, and welfare practices.
- Maintain accurate records and utilize word processing and statistical software for data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate frequently with co-workers, supervisors, students, faculty, and research staff to discuss study techniques, results, and animal care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate's degree required; may accept equivalent combination of experience, education, certification in lieu of degree.
Experience: 2+ years of lab experience which may include student experience.
Licensure: None.
Preferred Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 1 year of animal research experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
