Quality Inspector / Material Handler

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Inspector / Material Handler to join a manufacturing team.
This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering and customer specifications. The role will also support material handling by receiving, organizing, staging, and safely moving materials throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing quality products safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Quality Inspection
- Inspect raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, and assembly against engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, squares, levels, and other inspection equipment.
- Identify defective, damaged, incorrectly fabricated, or incorrectly assembled components.
- Verify hardware, components, guards, brackets, rollers, shafts, bearings, and other parts are installed correctly.
- Accurately document inspection results.
- Identify and communicate nonconforming materials or workmanship to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist production personnel with identifying and correcting quality issues.
- Perform final inspections before products are released for shipment.
- Maintain inspection records and required quality documentation.
- Help identify recurring quality issues and communicate them to management.
Material Handling
- Receive, identify, inspect, and organize incoming materials and components.
- Safely move raw materials, work-in-process materials, finished products, and components throughout the facility.
- Stage materials for production according to work orders and production schedules.
- Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, or material handling experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand measurements and specifications.
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to identify quality issues and communicate them appropriately.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
