Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Pain Portfolio is responsible for executing global medical initiatives that support the Companion Animal (CA) Pain portfolio and contribute to category growth, differentiation and customer value creation.
Working in close partnership with the Director- Pain-Global Portfolio Support, Global Marketing partners, and in-market medical teams, this role ensures the effective implementation of the global medical strategy through excellence in scientific engagement, medical communications, education, KOL collaboration and field execution.
The role serves as a critical link between global portfolio strategy and local market implementation, ensuring that medical activities are scientifically robust, customer-focused and aligned with business objectives. Through close collaboration with regional and country medical teams, the incumbent will help deliver a consistent and compelling scientific value proposition that strengthens Zoetis' position as the preferred partner in pain management.
The Senior Manager, Pain Portfolio will champion medical excellence across global markets, enabling veterinarians to make confident clinical decisions through trusted scientific expertise, practical guidance and evidence-based solutions.
Position Responsibilities
Medical Strategy Execution
- Partner with the Director- Pain-Global Portfolio Support , to translate global medical strategies into actionable programs, tools and initiatives that support portfolio growth and market differentiation.
- Lead the execution of short-, medium- and long-term medical plans for the CA Pain portfolio, ensuring alignment with broader brand objectives.
- Support implementation of global medical priorities across markets by collaborating closely with regional and country medical teams.
- Monitor execution and impact of medical initiatives, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.
Scientific Engagement & KOL Suppor t
- Support the implementation of the global portfolio specific Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy, fostering strong relationships with specialists, researchers and clinical experts in pain management.
- Coordinate KOL interactions and scientific exchange activities in partnership with global and local teams.
- Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, expert consultations and other scientific engagement activities.
- Assist in identifying emerging scientific trends, market needs and customer insights to inform future medical initiatives.
Congresses & External Representation
- Contribute to the development and delivery of scientific messaging and medical content for international congresses, scientific meetings and key industry events.
- Represent Zoetis in customer-facing scientific forums as appropriate.
- Ensure consistency and scientific integrity of external medical communications across global markets.
Medical Insights & Field Support
- Maintain strong relationships with in-market medical teams to gather, synthesize and communicate customer insights and emerging medical needs.
- Act as a conduit between global and local teams to ensure that market learnings are incorporated into medical planning and execution.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a core member of the Pain Brand Team, partnering closely with Global Marketing colleagues to ensure alignment between medical and commercial activities.
- Collaborate with Center of Excellence functions and above-market teams to convert veterinary insights into customer-focused tools, programs and marketing assets.
- Contribute medical expertise to integrated brand planning and execution.
- Support development of omnichannel and digital customer engagement initiatives from a medical perspective.
Medical Communication & Trainin g
- Contribute to the development of scientifically accurate and customer-relevant medical content and technical communication materials.
- Lead the development and delivery of medical training programs to support medical excellence across global markets.
- Ensure all materials and activities comply with applicable scientific, regulatory and ethical standards.
- Promote best practices and consistent scientific messaging across regions.
Education & Experience
Level of education and qualification:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree) required.
Professional experience/capabilities :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in veterinary medical roles with in-Market customer facing experience in the animal health industry.
- Strong understanding of Companion Animal pain management, including clinical practice, customer needs, and emerging scientific developments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the execution of medical strategies, programs, and initiatives across multiple markets or regions.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate complex cross-functional projects in a global matrix environment.
- Experience collaborating with marketing, commercial, medical affairs, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Strong scientific communication skills, with experience developing and delivering medical presentations, training programs, educational materials, and customer-facing scientific content.
- Experience engaging with veterinary Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), specialists, academic institutions, and professional organisations.
- Ability to translate scientific data and medical insights into practical and compelling customer value propositions.
- Experience gathering, interpreting, and incorporating customer and market insights into medical initiatives and execution plans.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and successfully manage stakeholders across diverse functions, regions, and cultures.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000 to $185,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
