About this role

Job Summary:

Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Downey, CA).

Will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

- Maintain own tools

- Minimum 5 yrs experience
- Knowledge of Cummins Engines and repair practices
>Engine knowledge includes Diesel, Nat Gas and EV products
- Knowledge of Cummins warranty policies and procedures
- Computer literate (Insite, QSOL, MS Office, Teams, Accelera)
- Ability to communicate detailed troubleshooting and repair results both internal and external

- A current valid license is required for this role - Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience - This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Significant field service work experience
Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
