SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Marketing and Pursuit Resources Manager to lead our Marketing and Pursuit Resources (MPR) team in our Central Texas/Oklahoma (CTO) and Gulf Coast subregions. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to operations leaders, technical staff, and business development professionals while leading a team of marketing coordinators and specialists responsible for some of SWCA's most critical growth opportunities. As a people leader, you will be responsible for developing, coaching, and empowering a high-performing team while ensuring the successful delivery of marketing and pursuit services across the region. You will provide strategic guidance on opportunity positioning, resource planning, pursuit strategy, proposal development, interview preparation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires balancing team leadership with hands-on involvement in complex, high-priority pursuits.

This is a full-time, regular (with benefits), salaried and exempt position. This position provides the flexibility of working remotely, in a hybrid capacity, or in-office as needed. However, it is a requirement that the candidate work in the Central time zone and possesses the ability to travel to offices for occasional on-site collaboration. This position requires occasional overtime, including working evenings and/or weekends as necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.

What you will accomplish
- Shapes and oversees the strategic direction for marketing and pursuit efforts company-wide, ensuring alignment with SWCA's long-term goals and market opportunities. Leads the creation of comprehensive, innovative strategies that position the company for growth and differentiation in the environmental and engineering sectors.
- Provides leadership for high-profile marketing projects, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence. Drives initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration, managing complex stakeholder relationships and leveraging deep industry insights for successful outcomes.
- Establishes and guides the strategic vision for SWCA's brand identity and presence, ensuring it resonates across diverse markets and platforms. Leads initiatives to elevate the company's brand, ensuring global recognition and consistency in all marketing endeavors.
- Leads strategic market research and analysis initiatives, providing insights that inform business strategy, product development, and competitive positioning. Champions the use of data-driven decision making to identify growth opportunities and market trends.
- Designs and oversees the implementation of advanced analytics and performance measurement frameworks to evaluate the return on investment of marketing strategies. Leads the optimization of marketing efforts based on comprehensive data analysis and industry benchmarks.
- Sets and enforces the highest standards for marketing practices and compliance across SWCA, ensuring all activities meet legal, ethical, and quality benchmarks. Leads the establishment and continuous improvement of quality assurance processes and standards.
- Spearheads innovation in marketing strategies and solutions, encouraging a culture of creativity and experimentation. Leads the exploration and adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Champions the development of SWCA's Marketing and Pursuit Resources team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Leads talent development initiatives, mentorship programs, and succession planning to build a high-performing team.
- Follows applicable federal, Tribal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, and specifications.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Additional Job-Specific Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of four or more regional marketing professionals with varying experience levels and responsibilities; establish priorities, balance workloads, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development and performance management.
- Serve as the regional leader for pursuit and capture excellence, guiding opportunity strategy, resource deployment, and cross-functional teams to develop compelling, differentiated proposals that strengthen client relationships and increase win rates.
- Champion adoption and continuous improvement of MPR processes, tools, and best practices, using data, market intelligence, and business insights to identify opportunities, improve team effectiveness, and support regional growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, including some experience managing others. Eight years of related experience is preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, performance, training, and/or education. Knowledge normally obtained through post-secondary education or training; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience and qualifications for success

- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, developing, and motivating team members with varying levels of experience and responsibilities.
- Substantial experience collaborating with operations and business development teams to pre-position and conduct capture planning for must win efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with operational and technical leaders and influence decisions through strong communication, collaboration, and business acumen.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, proofreading, writing, and document quality skills (including formatting), with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage processes, projects, and department initiatives while navigating competing priorities, and collaborating effectively with colleagues and leaders with diverse roles, perspectives, and interpersonal styles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related technical discipline (degrees in other specialties are acceptable if relevance can be demonstrated).
- Eight (8) years of experience in marketing and pursuit coordination, including taking a direct leadership role on strategic pursuits, leading teams through the capture, proposal development, and interview preparation processes.
- Three (3) years of experience managing a marketing team of two or more.
- Prior experience working within the A/E/C industry, or environmental consulting.
- Participation with associations and/or organizational marketing experience.
- Knowledge of local markets, including clientele and competition in environmental consulting.
- Experience working in Deltek Vantagepoint or comparable CRM.

Pay Range
SWCA is committed to salary equity and transparency. The expected pay range for this Central Time Zone- based position is $84,884.80 to $112,444.80 per year . Actual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. Eligible employees may also receive performance-based bonuses.
