About this role

The Process Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring mixers, ovens, and fryers on the production line in accordance with established safety, quality, and production standards. This role ensures efficient production, minimizes waste, maintains product consistency, and supports overall operational excellence. The Process Operator will work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals while adhering to all Barcel USA safety, food safety, and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including promptly reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.

- Demonstrate a proactive commitment to workplace safety and food safety at all times.

- Operate mixers, ovens, fryers, and related production equipment according to established operating procedures and specifications.

- Maintain production line efficiency and required operating speeds while minimizing product waste.

- Monitor fryer and oven performance to ensure products meet quality specifications and to prevent equipment issues, product defects, or oil spills.

- Assist with mixing operations, including opening ingredient bags, loading and unloading mixers, and preparing batches as required.

- Complete required production, quality, and operational documentation accurately and timely.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and 5S standards.

- Cross-train and perform other process-related positions as needed to support operations.

- Support compliance with all GMP, HACCP, FSMA, OSHA, food safety, and company requirements.

- Meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) established for the production line.

- Assist in maintaining inventory control and proper handling of raw materials and finished products.

- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Group Leader, Supervisor, or Management.

- Maintain flexibility to work various schedules, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production requirements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

- High School Diploma or GED preferred.

- Equivalent manufacturing or food production experience may be considered.

- Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or machine operation is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Ability to effectively work in a team environment.

- Ability to adapt quickly and move between tasks as operational needs change.

- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb as required.

- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.

- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, and food production ingredients.
