Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Global Wealth Solutions and Canadian Wealth Management by leading a portfolio of complex, high-priority strategic initiatives that transform our business and drive growth. The Director translates priorities into executable plans and drives initiatives from concept through implementation and benefit realization, including governance, cross-functional coordination, issue resolution, and executive reporting. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Leads the end-to-end delivery of complex strategic initiatives that support Global Wealth Solutions’ priorities, translating strategic objectives into clear workplans, milestones, governance forums, risks, dependencies, and decision points to ensure timely execution and measurable outcomes.
- Plays a hands-on role in the execution and implementation of strategic initiatives, working closely with cross-functional partners to develop plans, coordinate delivery activities, resolve issues in real time, and ensure initiatives are operationalized effectively and sustainably.
- Provides strong project governance across initiatives, including establishing steering and working teams, preparing materials for senior leaders, monitoring progress against plan, escalating issues appropriately, and ensuring decisions, actions, and accountabilities are clearly documented and executed.
- Leads cross-functional teams and influences stakeholders across business lines the broader Bank, applying strong judgment, an enterprise mindset, and a solutions-oriented approach to align priorities, remove barriers, and advance outcomes.
- Partners with senior leaders to shape strategic priorities, assess opportunities, and develop recommendations, implementation approaches, and roadmaps.
- Identifies and resolves complex issues requiring judgment, negotiation, and alignment across multiple business lines and control functions.
- Establishes success measures for initiatives and monitors progress through implementation and benefit realization.
- Develops high-quality executive materials that clearly articulate strategic choices, progress, risks, financial or operational implications, and required decisions.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is an asset.
- Extensive experience in strategy, transformation, project management, or business management within financial services, wealth management, or a similarly complex environment.
- Strong project management and governance experience, including building project plans, managing risks and dependencies, coordinating governance forums, and driving execution across cross-functional teams; PMP or equivalent is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives with minimal guidance, navigate ambiguity, and influence senior stakeholders across business and functional teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues into clear recommendations and action plans.
- Knowledge of wealth management is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel may be required from time to time.
