The Activities Coordinator for our Skilled Nursing Facility is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to engage and meet the needs of the residents. This role will foster a positive, supportive environment for residents, families, and team members on a full-time basis.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

- Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities for the residents in Skilled Nursing.
- Assists with producing monthly calendars and other promotional material.
- Produces and reviews individual resident assessments.
- Suggests programs and recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
- Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings and arranges special meetings for residents and families.
- Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
- Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Purchases supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
- Communicates the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
- Assists with directing volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
- Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

- NCCAP certification preferred
- Must be comfortable working a rotating holiday schedule
- Must hold a valid CPR, BLS, and First Aid Certification and be trained in AED procedures
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, and have adequate reading skills to understand resident care plans and other applicable documentation
- Education or experience with recreational activities, event planning or related preferred.
- Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
