About this role

Responsibilities

- Set and uphold the creative vision, standards, and ways of working across art and copy.

- Lead integrated creative strategy and execution across a portfolio of brands, audiences, channels, and complex client assignments.

- Guide Associate Creative Directors and other creative leaders, ensuring teams have clear direction, effective coaching, and appropriate decision-making authority.

- Create an environment where art and copy operate as an integrated partnership and consistently produce strategically sound, compelling work.

- Serve as the senior creative voice in high-stakes client discussions, brand planning, concept presentations, and executive-level meetings.

- Build trusted relationships with senior clients by connecting creative recommendations to brand strategy, audience needs, and business objectives.

- Provide decisive creative direction and resolve complex challenges involving strategy, craft, client feedback, regulatory requirements, timelines, staffing and resources.

- Maintain accountability for the quality, strategic alignment, accuracy, and regulatory viability of creative work across the portfolio.

- Partner with cross-functional leaders to shape briefs, brand plans, communication strategies, and innovative client solutions.

- Develop the department’s leadership pipeline through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and thoughtful delegation.

- Monitor the performance and health of the creative function, using business and talent insights to improve quality, efficiency, collaboration, and scalability.

- Stay ahead of trends across healthcare, culture, technology, media, and creativity—translating relevant developments into stronger work and agency-wide points of view

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications, marketing, design, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- At least 16 years of creative experience, including significant experience within a pharmaceutical or healthcare agency environment.

- At least five years of progressive leadership experience, including responsibility for multidisciplinary teams and other people leaders with demonstrated success building teams, developing senior talent, managing performance, and planning resources across competing priorities.

- A strong foundation in either art or copy, with demonstrated ability to evaluate, direct, and elevate both disciplines.

- A portfolio demonstrating strategically grounded concepts, integrated campaigns, and high-quality work across multiple channels and audiences.

- Proven experience leading complex, high-value client relationships, brand planning, and creative work across multiple brands or accounts.

- Strong business judgment, including an understanding of scopes, budgets, staffing, utilization, profitability, and agency growth.

- Exceptional communication, presentation, influence, and relationship-building skills.

- Ability to balance ambitious creative thinking with strategic, regulatory, operational, and commercial realities
