## Build Quality With Purpose
An established Sacramento-based manufacturer of premium fitness and wellness equipment is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead and elevate quality across the entire organization. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a newly consolidated quality function and create the systems, standards, and processes that drive world-class product quality. The ideal candidate is a player-coach who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands-on problem solving. This role will have responsibility for quality from supplier qualification through production, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
## Position Summary
The Quality Manager will serve as the primary owner of quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, including supplier quality, incoming inspection, in-process quality, customer complaints, warranty issues, corrective actions, and quality systems management. This role requires a leader who can build structure, develop standards, improve supplier performance, and partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to drive quality excellence.
## Key Responsibilities

### Quality Leadership
Lead all quality initiatives throughout the manufacturing process. Develop and maintain quality standards, inspection criteria, and acceptance requirements. Serve as chairperson for Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition decisions. Establish consistency in quality decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.
### Customer Quality
Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, and field failure investigations. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes. Prepare and deliver 8D reports and customer-facing quality communications. Ensure issues are resolved and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
### Quality Systems Management
Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS). Manage CAPA, non-conforming material processes, audits, and compliance activities. Develop meaningful quality metrics, dashboards, and KPI reporting. Monitor trends related to quality performance, supplier quality, rework, and cost of poor quality.
### Supplier Quality
Lead supplier qualification, audits, and development initiatives. Manage First Article Inspections (FAI), supplier corrective actions, and incoming quality requirements. Partner directly with suppliers to improve processes, controls, and overall product quality. Drive continuous improvement across the supplier network.
### Team Development
Lead and mentor quality inspectors, technicians, and supplier quality personnel. Provide coaching, direction, and quality expertise across the organization. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
### Growth & Strategic Projects
Support new product introductions and product launch activities. Participate in facility transition projects and manufacturing expansion initiatives. Assist with qualification and development of domestic and international suppliers.
## Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of progressive quality experience within a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of leadership experience managing quality teams or quality functions. Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), CAPA, MRB, audits, and non-conforming material processes. Experience with supplier quality management, including supplier audits, FAI, PPAP, and corrective actions. Customer-facing quality experience involving complaint resolution and 8D reporting. Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, or similar quality standards. Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools. New Product Introduction (NPI) experience. Experience qualifying international suppliers. ASQ Certification (CQE, CMQ/OE, or similar). Experience within consumer products, industrial equipment, furniture, fitness equipment, medical device, or aerospace manufacturing environments. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.12 - $72.12/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
