Automation Advisor - Canada / National

Nationwide Responsibility | All Verticals | Canada

Location: Open to candidates in any location or remote.

Create a unified national robotics growth engine for Canada while adapting Tennant’s automation strategy to Canadian customers, regions, procurement environments, and operating culture.

The Canada National Automation Advisor is the country-wide commercial and market leader for Tennant Robotics across Canada. Unlike a single-vertical specialist, this role spans Retail, Healthcare, Industrial, Building Service Contractors, Transportation, Hospitality, Public Sector, Education, and other strategic markets. The Advisor must balance broad market fluency with the ability to develop complex enterprise opportunities across provinces, languages, channels, and customer types.

Market Mission

- Set and execute the national Canadian robotics strategy across all major customer verticals.

- Coordinate one coherent market approach across Canadian field sales, strategic accounts, distribution, service, technical, and leadership resources.

- Build a diversified opportunity portfolio across regions and industries while identifying Canadian adoption barriers and routes to scale.

Core Responsibilities

- Develop and Advance Robotics Opportunities• Build and maintain a focused portfolio of high-potential targets, including new customers, existing Tennant customers not yet using robotics, and installed-base expansion opportunities.

- Research target organizations, stakeholders, operating environments, business priorities, and automation maturity.

- Create informed outreach and account-based pursuit strategies with field sales, strategic accounts, channel partners, Marketing, and leadership.

Lead Discovery and Solution Development

- Understand the customer's cleaning operation, labor model, workflow, facility conditions, performancerequirements, and business objectives.

- Evaluate automation fit, identify readiness risks, and translate customer challenges into clear use cases and measurable outcomes.

- Design the evaluation pathway, including site assessments, demonstrations, testing, pilots, success criteria, and multi-site validation.

Build the Business Case

- Translate capabilities into operational and financial value, including labor optimization, consistency, safety, datavisibility, service support, and scalability.

- Develop credible ROI assumptions and adapt the value proposition for operations, facilities, procurement, finance, IT, security, and executive stakeholders.

- Position automation as a long-term operating capability rather than a stand-alone equipment purchase.

Orchestrate the Opportunity

- Serve as commercial quarterback when designated, maintaining the opportunity strategy, stakeholder map, risks,next actions, and path to decision.

- Coordinate account teams, technical resources, Customer Success, Service, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Pricing, and executive sponsors.

- Maintain accurate CRM information and provide a reality-based view of timing, customer commitment, deployment readiness, and deal risk.

Canadian Market Leadership

- Develop working expertise in provincial and national buying environments, major industries, market associations,channel structures, and customer expectations.

- Adapt messaging, business cases, evaluations, and rollout plans to Canadian operating realities and regional differences.

- Create field training and vertical playbooks that help Canadian teams recognize and advance roboticsopportunities.

- Build relationships with national and regional customers, institutions, facility-management providers, BSCs, channel partners, and industry groups.

- Provide Canadian market intelligence to Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Service, and leadership.

Experience and Capabilities

- University degree and minimum of 7-10 years of enterprise sales, strategic-account, channel, or business-development experience in Canada.

- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple industries, provinces, account teams, and stakeholder groups.

- Strong discovery, executive presentation, business-case, and opportunity-orchestration skills.

- Ability to travel at least 25% across Canada and participate in cross-border planning when needed.

Preferred Background

- Experience selling automation, technology, capital equipment, facilities solutions, or operational services nationallyin Canada.

- Knowledge of provincial procurement, public institutions, national accounts, distributors, and facility-managementecosystems.

- Bilingual English/French capability is highly desirable.

- Experience with enterprise pilots, multi-site rollouts, and change-management programs.

Total Compensation = Pay range + Benefits

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
