The Role
The People Operations Coordinator will join the US People Team and support employees throughout the employee lifecycle. This person will help manage onboarding and offboarding, maintain accurate employee data in Workday, respond to day-to-day People questions, and coordinate learning programs. This role is well suited for someone who is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This is a temporary assignment with the potential to convert to a full-time role. Any conversion will depend on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
People Operations and Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including Workday tasks, employment agreements, background checks, I-9 verification, orientation, and required documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for candidates, new joiners, employees, and managers, responding to routine People questions and requests and ensuring timely follow-through.
- Support contractor agreements, onboarding, Workday records, and offboarding.
- Process employee changes and maintain accurate and complete records in Workday.
- Support employment verifications and other routine employee matters.
Workday and Team Support
- Help employees and managers navigate Workday processes, troubleshoot issues, and keep requests moving.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, review data quality, and partner with the HRIS team to improve reporting.
- Support annual People processes, including goal setting, performance, promotion, and compensation reviews.
- Update People policies, process guides, and employee communications, while identifying practical ways to improve the employee experience.
- Support People Team initiatives such as internships, employee events, benefits enrollment, and employee resource group activity.
Learning and Development
- Coordinate learning programs for employees at different career stages.
- Manage registration, calendar invitations, attendance, materials, participant communications, and follow-up.
- Maintain learning records, trackers, resources, and recordings across SharePoint and other platforms.
- Coordinate with internal facilitators, external vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Administer participant surveys and prepare clear summaries of participation, completion, and feedback data.
Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Learning and Development, or a related role. Professional services experience is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- A practical, service-oriented approach, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
- Experience using Workday is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with an interest in using AI and new tools responsibly.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Ability to work from the New York office at least three days per week, including Mondays.
Assignment and compensation
This position will begin as a temporary assignment and may convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs. The position is based in New York City and follows Teneo’s hybrid work policy.
Hourly pay range
$40-45 per hour. The final rate will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications. Benefits, if any, will depend on the terms of the temporary assignment and whether the individual is hired directly by Teneo or through a staffing partner.
