JOB SUMMARY:

The Sloan Creek Campus Pastor is responsible for providing pastoral leadership and management for all of the ministries at the Sloan Creek Campus for Chase Oaks Church. The Campus Pastor will need to implement the Chase Oaks model of ministry and support the leadership, vision and direction of Chase Oaks Church.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Commit to doing ministry as a team – develop interdependence among team members and be authentic with team members

- Commit to participate in the core functions of Chase Oaks Church

- Consistently model a life of bridge-building

- Give advice and care using a biblical grid when called for (Pastor-of-the-Day calls and general interaction with people)

- Be available to perform sacerdotal functions (weddings, funerals, communion and baptisms)

- Regularly attend and participate in staff and pastoral meetings and/or leadership development opportunities

- Be available to assist other ministries and pastors with projects or by handling specific assignments

- Be a developer of leaders

CAMPUS PASTOR PRIMARY (DIRECT) RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Connect people to teams, groups, and leadership opportunities

- Grow the weekend service attendance

- Engage the community in ways that reflect our outward focus

- Care well pastorally for the community, congregation and staff

- Lead the campus team (staff and volunteers) with Chase Oaks culture, values, mission, and DNA

- Preach up to once per sermon series (as guided by Lead Pastor)

CAMPUS PASTOR SECONDARY (INDIRECT) RESPONSIBILIT IES

- Invest disproportionately in the next generation, ensuring kids and student ministries are excellent, outward facing, and growing

- Model the mission of Chase Oaks: We inspire people to follow Jesus and together change our world for good.

- Align Sloan Creek Campus activities and plans around the campus strategy, with other Chase Oaks campuses. Meet weekly with campus pastors, monthly with all staff, and monthly with the Directional Team

- Develop generosity and giving in partnership with the Directional Team

- In collaboration with the Chase Oaks Communications team, communicate monthly with the campus to keep them inspired, informed, and connected

- Work closely with all-campus ministry leaders (worship, outreach, care, communications, groups, family ministry) to stay resourced and aligned

- Observe and provide feedback and coaching for the ministry leaders on a regular basis. Visit their environments (kids, students, adults) on a monthly basis (minimum)

- Lead the weekend services (plan with central Chase Oaks worship team, host, evaluate afterward)

Qualifications

JOB PROFILE:

SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS

- Requires the ability to multi-task and work independently in carrying out assignments to completion

- Must have excellent communication / customer service skills and be able to interface with Chase Oaks Church staff and those that attend Chase Oaks Church

- Must have stage presence and a desire to be up front leading

- Requires the ability to compose culturally relevant, effective and accurate communication and deal with non-routine matters, such as special projects

- Strong organizational skills

- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form

- High attention to detail

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

- Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EDUCATION DESIRED

- College degree, School of Theology preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- This job will supervise staff and a core leadership team of volunteers and also have admin support.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required. High attention to customer service.

COMPUTER SKILLS

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email

- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

- Data entry skill & experience

- Familiarity with databases
