Position Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Broker Assistant to support a busy Casualty brokerage team in New York. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the person behind the scenes who keeps the brokerage process organized, responsive, and moving forward.
The ideal candidate has 1-3+ years of experience supporting brokers or insurance professionals, preferably within a wholesale brokerage environment or casualty-focused book of business. This is a great long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys the brokerage support function and wants to continue building their expertise in that space.
You’ll partner closely with brokers on renewals, marketing preparation, documentation, account maintenance, and day-to-day client and market support.
What will your job entail?
What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to Casualty brokers.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of renewal and marketing materials, including documents, cover letters, and related correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and account information across internal systems.
- Organize and maintain account documentation, files, and transaction records.
- Respond to broker requests and help keep timelines, documentation, and follow-ups on track.
- Support recordkeeping, compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Partner with brokerage, finance, and other internal teams to resolve account-related needs.
- Assist with general brokerage workflow and ad hoc requests as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-3+ years of experience in an insurance brokerage, underwriting, or related insurance support role.
- Experience directly supporting brokers or a brokerage team strongly preferred.
- Wholesale insurance and/or Casualty experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Someone who genuinely enjoys a support-focused role and is interested in growing their expertise within brokerage operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Licenses & Certifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state P&C and/or surplus lines licensing as required.

The target hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25 per hour.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
