Roster: Tuesday to Friday, 1:00pm – 11:00pm (40 hours per week)

Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for an Electrical Technician Handyman to support the maintenance and day-to-day operation of Gippsland's major regional hospital in Traralgon. Reporting to the Senior Technician, you'll carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance and pitch in on general handyperson tasks across the site.
You'll be joining a small, close-knit team who work closely together, share a laugh, and back each other up. It's a great fit for someone who's proactive, enjoys variety, and is keen to learn and help beyond their own trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital site.
- Complete electrical repairs, replacements, and breakdown maintenance within your qualifications.
- Help with general handyperson and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Complete daily inspections, routine checks, and reports through the CMMS.
- Complete work orders within contracted timeframes.
- Carry out equipment inspections as part of preventative maintenance plans.
- Help coordinate and monitor subcontractors when required.
- Support your teammates and work with the facilities and site management teams.
- Work safely in line with WHS requirements, including hazard and incident reporting. ⚡
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Trade qualification in Electrical Services.
- Current Electrical Licence.
- Experience with electronic circuitry testing and diagnostics.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take on tasks outside your trade.
- Experience working within QA, WHS, and environmental systems.
- Basic skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear communication and a genuine team player attitude.
Desirable:
- Experience working with High Voltage.
- Working knowledge of other trades such as plumbing, refrigeration, or HVAC.
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) certification.
- Experience in hospital, healthcare, or facilities maintenance environments.
Workplace Flexibility
This is a full time, permanent position based on-site in Traralgon , working a Tuesday to Friday roster from 1:00pm-11:00pm , with pay processed weekly.
