Job Title: R&D Engineering Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated R&D Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for assembling prototype systems, running and monitoring experiments, and creating essential documentation. Your role will significantly contribute to improving and accelerating our work processes, ensuring precision in both lab and field settings. Responsibilities
- Build prototype systems by assembling mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems from drawings, sketches, and engineer directions.
- Run and monitor experiments by setting up tests in the lab, operating equipment, collecting data, and documenting and interpreting results.
- Create comprehensive documentation including assembly instructions, design documentation, test procedures, and drawings.
- Identify improvements to make recurring builds and tests faster and more reliable.
- Assess when to apply precision and careful planning versus quick testing with off-the-shelf parts.
- Support field deployments by fabricating, testing, documenting, and shipping equipment, and traveling as needed to assist field installations.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical intuition.
- Experience in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, especially in industrial process environments.
- Ability to follow drawings and documentation carefully, and adapt in situations with minimal documentation.
- Action-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
- Low ego and high ownership with a willingness to change paths based on evidence and test results.
- Comfortable working hands-on in both lab and outdoor field environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical school, associate degree, military technical training, or industry experience.
- Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition using thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, and other industrial sensors and controllers.
- Familiarity with CAD and reading engineering drawings.
- Experience with PLCs or microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of pumps, blowers, heaters, and piping/ducting.
- 3D printing experience.
Work Environment You will work in both lab and outdoor field environments, requiring a hands-on approach and comfort with getting dirty when necessary. The role may involve travel to support field installations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodinville, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
