Key purpose of the role

Lead and manage the enterprise risk culture, accountability and risk capability components of the ASX Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Drive a significant and sustained uplift in risk capability and behaviours through ASX Accelerate and the Risk Transformation Program. Design and embed an enterprise risk capability architecture that defines the capabilities, proficiency expectations and critical role requirements needed for effective risk management, supported by targeted assessment, development and learning pathways. Partner across ASX to integrate these pathways into how people are selected, developed, led and held accountable, and measure their impact to ensure the uplift in risk maturity is sustained.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, Enterprise Risk & Compliance, this Sydney-based role sits within the Risk Transformation, Enterprise Risk & Compliance team and has approximately one direct report. You will partner closely with the Risk Transformation Integration Lead, ASX Senior Leadership Team, People & Culture, Line 1 businesses and Line 1 Risk Partners.

About the team

Enterprise Risk & Compliance is a second-line function responsible for risk and compliance activities across ASX. The team develops and implements risk management frameworks, governance arrangements, risk reporting, policy governance, risk capability and accountability frameworks aligned with industry and regulatory best practice. It also provides risk expertise, oversight and challenge to support enterprise culture initiatives and ASX’s role as a steward of critical market infrastructure.

What you’ll do

- Lead the implementation and embedding of key Enterprise Risk Management Framework components, including the Three Lines of Defence, Risk & Compliance Capability, Risk Culture and Accountability Framework.
- Design and embed enterprise risk capability frameworks and architectures that translate strategic, cultural and risk priorities into clear capabilities, proficiency expectations and behaviours.
- Develop Three Lines of Defence capability pathways that connect role requirements with assessment, development, learning, career pathways and relevant talent practices.
- Partner with subject matter experts, People & Culture and business leaders to create contemporary learning pathways that strengthen technical, leadership and accountability capabilities.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, change management and continuous improvement activities that support the adoption and sustainability of risk transformation outcomes.
- Apply robust learning and capability design disciplines to deliver on-the-job application and sustained behaviour change.
- Establish measures to assess improvements in capability and behaviour, demonstrate impact and identify where further support or corrective action is required.
- Manage the planning, delivery and governance of Risk Transformation initiatives, including monitoring progress, risks, issues and dependencies, supporting governance forums and coordinating enterprise delivery activities.
- Prepare executive, Board and governance committee reporting, insights and recommendations to support senior decision-making.
- Role model the ASX Leadership Principles by setting clear direction, enabling exceptional outcomes, empowering talented people and building trusted relationships.

What you’ll bring

- A tertiary qualification in risk management, compliance, governance, organisational psychology, business, finance, law or a related discipline.
- Seven to ten years’ experience in risk management, operational risk, enterprise risk, compliance, conduct risk, internal audit, risk culture, behavioural risk or a related discipline within a complex, highly regulated organisation.
- Strong knowledge of second-line risk management.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing or embedding risk frameworks, governance arrangements, reporting frameworks, operating models, assessment methodologies or enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience developing and implementing culture and capability frameworks, role architectures, proficiency models, assessment approaches, learning pathways or capability uplift initiatives.
- Experience preparing executive, Board and governance committee reporting and supporting senior decision-making with clear insights and recommendations.

Desirable experience

- Experience in organisational culture, risk culture, behavioural risk, organisational development or workforce capability.
- Professional qualifications or certifications in risk management, governance, organisational psychology, change management or learning and development.
- Project management experience, including the use of Jira and Microsoft Planner to manage critical paths, risks, issues and dependencies.
