About Us Pyxis Management Consulting Group helps public sector agencies modernize how they serve the public. We work with government clients nationwide on strategy, program delivery and technology-enabled transformation. We are already embracing AI: through Pyxis AI, we help our client's put practical, responsible AI to work to streamline operations and improve services, and we use the same approach across our own firm.
Role Overview In this role, you will spot where AI can save time or raise quality, build working solutions quickly, and help teams adopt them. Most of the job is internal: sales, marketing, proposals, delivery and operations. You will also support the internal Pyxis AI team on its roadmap items, own our proposal pipeline and proposal compliance, and support client pursuits with AI demos and content where needed. We are looking for a practical builder who keeps up with the field and can explain AI clearly to non-technical colleagues and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Strategy and use-case discovery:
- Support the internal Pyxis AI team on its roadmap items, from research and prototyping through build and rollout.
- Map workflows across sales, marketing, proposals, delivery, finance and HR, and identify where AI adds the most value.
- Feed prioritized use cases into the Pyxis AI roadmap, with clear cost, effort and expected impact for each.
- Track new models, tools and techniques, and brief leadership on what matters for our business.
Internal Solutions:
- Build AI assistants and automations for research, content creation and reporting.
- Develop agent and retrieval (RAG) workflows over our proposals, past performance and knowledge base.
- Integrate AI into the tools we already use, such as Microsoft 365, CRM and project management platforms.
- Measure results (hours saved, turnaround time, quality) and iterate.

Proposal Management and Compliance:
- Build and maintain our proposal pipeline, tracking opportunities from RFP release through bid/no-bid, submission and award, and use AI to source and qualify new opportunities.
- Own internal proposal compliance from RFP release to submission.
- Build a compliance matrix for each RFP, mapping every requirement, evaluation criterion and instruction to the section that answers it.
- Build AI assistants and automations for proposal writing and RFP analysis.
- Contribute to solution approaches, technical sections and AI capability statements in proposals.
- Build demos and proofs of concept that support proposals and client conversations.
- Check formatting rules, page limits, mandatory forms, certifications, attachments and submission method before every submission.
- Track deadlines, Q&A windows, addenda and amendments, and make sure changes are reflected in the response.
- Run a final compliance review and sign-off before each submission and keep a reusable compliance checklist and library of standard forms.

Governance and enablement:
- Set practical guidelines for responsible AI use, data privacy and security, aligned with public sector expectations.
- Train colleagues through workshops, prompt libraries and how-to guides.
- Evaluate AI vendors and tools and recommend what to adopt.

Required Qualifications:
- 4–7 years in software engineering, data science, automation or solutions roles, with at least 2 years building with generative AI.
- Hands-on experience with leading LLM platforms (for example Claude, OpenAI or Gemini) and their APIs.
- Practical skill in prompt design, RAG, agent workflows and evaluating model output.
- Strong Python; comfortable with APIs, JSON and low-code tools such as Power Automate, Zapier or n8n.
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
- A portfolio of AI solutions you have shipped and that people actually use.
- Clear written and spoken English; able to explain AI to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working remotely with a US team across time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:
- Experience with US government RFPs, compliance matrices or proposal management (for example, APMP familiarity).
- Experience with consulting firms or professional services.
- Exposure to US public sector or government technology projects.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as FedRAMP, StateRAMP, SOC 2 or NIST AI RMF.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock in an enterprise setting.
- Experience automating proposal or RFP workflows.
- Basic front-end or data visualization skills for building demos.

To apply, send your resume and two or three examples of AI solutions you have built (links, demos or short write-ups) to [email protected].
