POSITION SUMMARY
The Coat Check Attendant provides courteous, efficient, and professional service to guests by managing the coat check area during weddings, corporate events, and private functions. This role helps create a welcoming guest experience by ensuring the secure handling, storage, and return of personal belongings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests warmly and provide clear instructions for the coat check process.
Receive and tag coats, bags, umbrellas, and other personal items, ensuring accurate tracking and safekeeping.
Organize and maintain the coat check area in a clean and orderly manner.
Return belongings to guests promptly and courteously using claim tickets or tags.
Monitor and safeguard guest property to prevent loss or damage.
Provide professional and discreet assistance to guests as needed.
Communicate with event management regarding lost items or unclaimed belongings.
Uphold venue standards of hospitality, appearance, and service.
Informs manager of difficult or emotional customer situations.
Responds promptly and courteously to customer needs.
Event-based schedule with peak activity during guest arrival and departure times.
Ability to remain professional, polished, and discreet despite volume.
Offer Fast-paced, high-volume hospitality.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Work Experience: 1 – 3 months related experience and/ or training
• Previous hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, courteous demeanor.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Ability to handle guest interactions with discretion and efficiency.
Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT
(Frequency of mobility, lifting, climbing, standing, siting, reaching, speaking, vision, color vision, outdoors/indoors, noise level, fumes/odor, chemical exposure or any other environmental hazards)
• Prolonged periods of standing, climbing/balancing, stooping/bending.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to sustain long periods of loud noise and vibrations
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment including exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
