We are looking for a Test Architect – Automatic Train Protection (ATP) - Railway Infrastructure
You’ll make a difference by:
Assignment:
- Define and govern the overall test strategy, architecture, coverage, and acceptance criteria for ATP-based railway signalling systems.
- Lead testing activities across requirements, integration, interface, system, performance, safety, and end-to-end operational scenarios.
- Ensure compliance with CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and support safety assessments, audits, and certification activities.
- Provide technical leadership for ETCS Level 2, KAVACH, or other ATP systems, including train-to-track and subsystem interface testing.
- Develop and review test plans, specifications, procedures, reports, and traceability across requirements, tests, defects, and results.
- Define and manage simulation, test bench, and real-hardware test environments for normal, degraded, and failure scenario.
- Lead system integration and interface testing across ATP, Interlocking, Communications, Train Positioning, and Traffic Control systems.
- Drive test automation strategies, tool qualification, and improvements in test efficiency and coverage.
- Experience with protocol analysis, log analysis and test data analysis tools is preferred
- Mentor engineering teams and provide expert guidance on railway signalling testing, verification, and validation practices.
- Coordinate with System Engineering, Software, Hardware, Safety, RAMS, and Project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Competencies
- Strong expertise in ATP Railway Signalling Systems, with hands-on experience in ETCS Level 2 and/or KAVACH.
- Proven experience in system integration, verification, validation, and safety-critical testing.
- In-depth knowledge of railway safety standards and CENELEC-compliant V&V processes.
- Experience with simulation platforms, real hardware testing, and test automation frameworks.
- Strong technical leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting RDSO, NoBo, ISA or other independent safety/certification assessments is an advantage.
You’ll win us over by:
- Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / Instrumentation / Control Systems or any related Engineering.
- Professional experience of minimum 10 to 15+ years in railway transportation systems with the focus on testing in ETCS L2 / KAVACH domain
- Performed hands on testing activities for wayside and onboard ETCS L2 / KAVACH besides understanding of operational scenarios, requirements, and interfaces.
- Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German/Spanish is an asset
- Independent and structured approach to work
- A technical leader capable of influencing and mentoring engineering teams
- Structured, quality-focused, and comfortable working in complex, safety-critical environments.
