About this role
Role Purpose
To ensure the safe and efficient handling, loading, unloading, storage, and distribution of automotive parts using a forklift, while maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting warehouse operations, and complying with company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods from containers, trailers, and delivery vans using a forklift.
- Transport shipments into and out of the warehouse safely and efficiently.
- Move automotive parts and materials between receiving, storage, and designated warehouse areas.
- Follow instructions from the Warehouse Supervisor and Storekeepers to organize warehouse stock and support daily operations.
- Maintain the forklift in good working condition and report any maintenance or servicing requirements.
- Strictly follow forklift operating procedures, workplace safety regulations, and precautionary measures.
- Maintain a valid forklift driving license and ensure all required forklift documents remain up to date.
- Complete the required forklift operational training and certification through DIC, as applicable.
- Receive, store, and distribute parts to retail and workshop counters.
- Read parts orders, shipping documents, and requisitions to identify items for movement and distribution.
- Sort and store parts on racks, shelves, or bins according to product codes, sizes, types, and other identification criteria.
- Pick, assemble, and pack customer orders from stock, placing items on pallets or in boxes for dispatch.
- Label and mark materials with the necessary identification details.
- Open crates, bales, and other containers using appropriate tools and safe handling practices.
- Count and weigh items to verify quantities and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of goods received, stored, and distributed.
- Use computerized systems to update stock and warehouse records.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or National Parts Manager.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in forklift operations and warehouse handling.
- Experience with loading and unloading shipments, material movement, stock handling, and warehouse organization.
Education
- High School qualification or Diploma.
Certification
- Valid forklift driving license is mandatory.
- Forklift operational training or DIC certification, as required.
Technical Skills
- Ability to operate a forklift safely for loading, unloading, and material transportation.
- Knowledge of warehouse storage, stock movement, and parts handling procedures.
- Ability to read shipping orders, requisitions, and parts documentation.
- Understanding of safe lifting, stacking, and material-handling practices.
- Basic knowledge of forklift maintenance and the ability to identify equipment issues.
