Yara Technology, Projects & Operational Excellence (YTP) is a global enabler of Yara’s strategy, delivering innovation, project execution, operational and procurement excellence.

YTP is structured around five pillars: Technology, Projects, Operational Excellence, Technical Procurement and Digital Business Partnering, covering the full YGP scope. Together, these departments drive the development of modern technologies, execute complex technical projects, and embed continuous improvement and harmonized practices across Yara’s Production system. We collaborate closely with internal and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions that create value for Yara and society.

As part of Digital Business Partnering, Integrated Operations Support (IOpS) supports our production sites by leveraging data and AI-based analytics to deliver trusted, actionable insights. By combining process & discipline expertise with data science capabilities, we enable early warning detection and identify opportunities improved operational stability, performance, and reliability. With a focus on medium- and long-term trends, IOpS helps production sites move from reactive decision-making toward more proactive, data-driven operations.

IOpS also drives the safe and scalable adoption of Industrial AI across Yara's production network by building internal capabilities, identifying AI use cases, and supporting the translation of data insights into operational improvements. This position will play a key role in the continued development and delivery of the Rotating Equipment Diagnostics workstream within IOpS, helping to advance predictive maintenance capabilities and drive operational excellence across our global production network.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for the condition monitoring and diagnostics of critical rotating equipment across the Yara production system.

- Drive end-to-end resolution of developing machinery issues (from alarm to action and resolution).

- Perform machinery baselining activities after major overhauls. Also support vibration/ machinery health checks during/after a plant start-up.

- Combine vibration data with process data, maintenance history, inspection findings, lubricant analysis, and alarm history.

- Closely collaborate with rotating equipment engineers within the YTP Projects organization and OPEX, to support RCPS processes.

- Ensure that high quality, actionable diagnostic insights are delivered to our production plants. Lead the process of failure mode detection by collaboration with production sites.

- Coach colleagues, document key learnings, and contribute to the development of rotating equipment diagnostics capability across Yara.

- Coach younger colleagues and build strong rotating equipment diagnostics capability within IOpS and also across Yara.

- Support the testing and growth of AI capability within rotating equipment condition monitoring and diagnostics.

Profile

- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, combined with strong expertise in condition monitoring and vibration analysis; CAT III/IV certification according to ISO 18436-2 is an advantage.

- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in detailed vibration diagnostics of critical rotating equipment, including failure root cause analysis and machinery health assessments.

- Proficiency in the use of condition monitoring software e.g. Bently Nevada System1 is an advantage.

- Experience managing complex machinery issues from early warning indications through diagnosis, recommendations, actions, and lessons learned, preferably using a structured RCPS approach.

- Proven ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment, manage several tasks in parallel, and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in the operation and maintenance of critical rotating equipment, such as steam turbines, compressors, expanders, gearboxes, motors, and generators, is an advantage.

- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, cultures, and geographies.

- Ability to coach and develop colleagues in rotating machinery condition monitoring through best practices, shared learning, and training material.

- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Additional Information

The role is open to applications across all Yara locations. Localization at a production site is an advantage. Some amount of travel for workshops, site interaction etc. will be expected.
