JOB SUMMARY

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective production plan that aligns customer demand, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and shipment commitments. This position serves as the key coordinator between customers, Business Unit teams, Materials, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure production output meets customer requirements while optimizing inventory, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with Business Unit (BU), Customers, Materials, Purchasing, and Operations teams to develop and maintain an accurate demand and production plan.
- Analyze customer forecasts, demand fluctuations, and shipment requirements to establish a feasible production schedule.
- Review material availability and identify potential shortages to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Evaluate manufacturing capacity, labor resources, and equipment utilization to create an achievable production plan.
- Create and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and load planning data into the ERP/MRP system.
- Monitor daily production output against the production plan and drive corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Track customer commits and shipment schedules to ensure production output aligns with delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve production constraints, material shortages, capacity issues, and schedule changes.
- Develop revenue and shipment forecasts and monitor actual performance against targets.
- Analyze planning metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory management, and overall operational efficiency.
- Support new product introductions (NPI), customer demand changes, and business growth requirements through effective production planning.
- Prepare and communicate production planning reports, backlog status, capacity analysis, and recovery plans to management.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, security requirements, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

- Strong knowledge of Production Planning, Master Scheduling, Capacity Planning, and Demand Planning processes.
- Thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, material flow, inventory management, and supply chain concepts.
- Ability to analyze customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and shipment requirements to create effective production plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Ability to prepare reports, forecasts, and planning analyses.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on business priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
- Proficient verbal and written English skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Production Planning, Materials Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Materials Control, or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in high-volume manufacturing and ERP/MRP environments is preferred.
- Experience in EMS/Electronics Manufacturing industry is an advantage.
