HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
Issuer Services provides Corporate Trust, Loan Agency, Bonds and Escrow services to Corporate and Institutional Banking clients across 17 markets.
This is a high-impact opportunity to help transform the Issuer Services business from a “maintain” operating model to a technology-enabled “grow” model. As the Data and Digital Propositions Lead, you’ll define and deliver propositions that use data, digital capability, automation and Artificial Intelligence to improve end-2-end client as well as business experience, strengthen operational resilience, reduce risk and enable sustainable growth.
You’ll work across business, technology, operations, product, risk and control teams to turn strategic ambition into measurable outcomes. The role will be central to the business plan’s objectives, including but not limited to establishing client data exchange mechanisms, enhancing reporting internal and external, developing APIs, supporting digital initiatives and implementing AI use cases as identified and defined in the Future State Architecture and other initiatives to enable a platform for growth.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director - Issuer Services Tech - Data and Digital Proposition Lead in CIB Tech – Securities Services & Digital Assets Tech.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the strategy, mobilisation and delivery of MENAT Workflow and Utilities services—including iQA, iQB, DMS, Filenet, Retention tools, Domino, GWIS, JOC and OnDemand—in line with regional and global priorities.
- Own end-to-end delivery across initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, transition and closure, using Agile or hybrid delivery methods.
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Operations, Security, Programme Management and external partners.
- Establish delivery governance, including planning ceremonies, RAID management, dependency tracking, steering updates, milestone control and escalation.
- Act as the key regional contact for workflow and utility services, providing senior stakeholders with progress updates, forecasts, recommendations and performance reporting.
- Ensure regulatory, data privacy, security, risk and internal-control requirements are embedded throughout service delivery and ongoing operations.
- Own the IT Service Owner lifecycle: service strategy, design, transition, operation, continual improvement, continuity, capacity and service-level management.
- Maintain service resilience and operational effectiveness through monitoring, incident and problem management, change and configuration management, privileged-access controls, cyber-security, patching and technology evergreening.
- Ensure data and service records remain accurate across EIM, PLADA and uCMDB, and that service acceptance, operational readiness, investment documentation and migration plans are complete.

- Maintain a customer-focused, risk-aware culture, ensuring fair customer outcomes, effective stakeholder communication, compliance with Group standards and timely escalation of concerns.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 10–15 years’ experience in software deployment and support, including at least 10 years in IT leadership and/or IT Service Owner roles managing teams across countries.
- Strong knowledge of Workflow technology, supporting infrastructure, business processes and the full application lifecycle—from design and development through testing, implementation and production support.
- Proven ability to manage concurrent projects, changing priorities, resource forecasts, delivery backlogs and tight deadlines in a complex, evolving environment.
- Strong leadership, people-management, delegation, coaching, recruitment, performance-management and team-development skills.
- Practical experience across IT service management, operational resilience, risk management, regulatory compliance, cyber-security, change, incident, problem, capacity and service-level management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions that improve customer experience, service availability, efficiency, reuse, security and cost control.
- Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate technical matters clearly to business and technical audiences across regional and global teams.
- Experience working with Agile delivery methods and tools such as JIRA and Confluence, alongside delivery governance, testing, release management and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience managing third-party vendors and consultancies, negotiating effectively and brokering agreement between IT, business and external parties.
- Strong understanding of data governance and service information management, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring operational readiness for new or changed services.
- Sound judgement and a responsible approach to operational, regulatory, financial, cyber and customer risk, including awareness of the Three Lines of Defence and financial-crime controls.
- Graduate-level or higher qualification, preferably in IT, supported by logical problem-solving, diplomatic communication, customer focus, urgency and a collaborative team approach.
