Are you interested in women’s rights, gender equality and international development cooperation? Do you want to gain experiences of how development aid programmes are planned, implemented and followed up, while contributing to Kvinna till Kvinna’s work for women’s rights and lasting peace?
Then an internship with Kvinna till Kvinna’s Programme Department at our head office in Stockholm during the spring semester 2027 could be for you.
About the internship
Depending on your interests, background and the needs of the organisation, the internship may have a particular geographical focus on one of Kvinna till Kvinna’s programme regions, including the Western Balkans, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East or the South Caucasus. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to work across regions.
Across the regions, our work covers thematic areas such as women’s rights and gender equality, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, feminist movement building, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, women’s economic empowerment, democracy and peacebuilding.
Key tasks may include
- Conducting desk studies and supporting context analyses focusing on out thematic areas.
- Contributing to the development of grants applications, proposals and results reports.
- Supporting programme monitoring, follow-up and reporting.
- Supporting reviews of partner organisation proposals and reports.
- Providing general administrative and logistical support.
About you
You are committed to gender equality and women’s rights and have a strong interest in international development, peace, human rights or related issues. You are analytical and organised, and like to work both independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- You have completed or are currently completing at least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field such as International Development, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Human Rights, Gender Studies or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated research, analytical and writing skills.
- Very good written and spoken English, including strong writing skills.
- Good organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internet-based platforms.
Meriting:
- Knowledge of or previous experience with one or more of Kvinna till Kvinna’s geographical regions.
- Experience working on the Women, Peace and Security agenda, countering gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, women’s economic empowerment or related thematic areas.
- Knowledge of EU institutions, EU accession processes, the UN or other relevant international stakeholders.
- For candidates especially interested in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, strong French language skills are an asset.
- Language skills relevant to the other regions where we work (Arabic; Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Ukrainian etc.) are also an asset.
Terms and conditions
- At Kvinna till Kvinna, you will become part of an inspiring workplace with dedicated colleagues working for women’s rights and gender equality around the world, as well as a group of interns based at the office in Stockholm.
- The internship is intended for you who are looking for an internship as part of your current studies, preferably where you receive reimbursement from CSN, Erasmus+ or other funds, or as part of a labour integration programme supporting internships, for instance through Arbetsförmedlingen.
- You’ll be able to combine internship tasks with university assignments, if applicable, during regular working hours.
- The internship is unpaid. You will be covered by Kvinna till Kvinna’s accident insurance during the internship.
- The internships are normally approximately 20 weeks, starting at the beginning of 2027.
