About the role:
As a Senior Assistant Pricing Actuary, you will be part of the Actuarial Reserving P&C Re team for Americas in Bangalore. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical actuarial, modelling, and data analytics skills across a wide variety of activities. You will be involved with topics spanning commutation pricing, reserving, statutory reporting, and data analytics — helping you develop into a well-rounded actuary with a truly global perspective
Key Responsibilites
- Perform actuarial analysis of business to be commuted and determine the price for the scope in question, with interaction across senior actuaries, Claims, Underwriting, Reserving, and In-force Management teams globally
- Work on end-to-end reserving for designated lines of business and gain insights into the underlying business and markets
- Learn and work independently on Swiss Re tools for commutation and reserving work, supporting development where required, either independently or as part of a project team in close collaboration with colleagues
- Work on statutory reporting and other actuarial reports
- Participate in cross-functional actuarial projects and contribute to working groups
- Generate valuable insights from large datasets, perform analytics, data visualization and reporting
About the team:
The Actuarial Reserving P&C Re team for the Americas is part of the Global Actuarial Reserving P&C Re Unit, which is responsible for reserving, commutation pricing, statutory reporting, and IFRS17 reporting and implementation. Based in Bangalore, the team works closely with colleagues across the globe, playing an important role in Swiss Re's Americas business with rigorous actuarial analysis.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Actuarial Science, with Core Principles series or equivalent actuarial exams passed and a commitment to full qualification
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in the P&C actuarial domain, including reserving, pricing, risk management, or capital modelling. Strong knowledge of P&C reserving and actuarial valuation techniques is an advantage.
- Strong IT skills with Excel and the Microsoft Suite as a mandatory requirement. Experience with R, Python, and/or PowerBI, and adaptation to usage/applications of AI is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts clearly to a range of audiences
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
