Overview:
Horizon Farm Credit is actively recruiting for an Ag Lending Manager to lead our Ag Lending team. In this role, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of Ag Relationship Managers while supporting business growth, customer success, and sound credit administration throughout your assigned region. Qualified candidate may work in the Butler, PA or Meadville, PA branch location. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
This position is ideal for an experienced agricultural lending professional who enjoys mentoring others, building strong customer relationships, and creating strategies that drive growth and profitability. You will play a key leadership role in implementing regional and Association sales initiatives, maintaining portfolio quality, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Position Description:
As an Ag Lending Manager, you will spend the majority of your time leading and developing a team of Ag Relationship Managers, helping them strengthen their technical expertise, consultative selling skills, and customer relationship management capabilities. You will provide coaching, guidance, and performance accountability while ensuring alignment with Horizon's strategic goals and sales objectives.
In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a customer portfolio and remain actively engaged in business development activities, allowing you to stay connected to the marketplace while serving as a trusted resource for your team. You will collaborate closely with lending leadership to achieve regional growth goals, maintain strong credit quality, and deliver exceptional value to customers.
Areas of Responsibility Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Ag Relationship Managers to support business growth, employee development, and customer success.
- Foster a strong team environment through collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and open communication across departments.
- Support onboarding, training, and professional development efforts that help team members achieve success early and throughout their careers.
- Drive regional growth by leading business development activities, implementing sales strategies, and achieving team lending and profitability goals.
- Coach employees on consultative selling techniques, relationship management best practices, and customer-focused service delivery.
- Ensure sound credit administration practices by guiding loan origination, underwriting, servicing, pricing, and portfolio management activities.
- Serve as a regional resource for credit policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and lending best practices.
- Maintain and service a customer loan portfolio while cultivating new business opportunities and strengthening existing relationships.
- Partner with Home & Land Lenders, Corporate Lenders, Business Services, and other internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Actively contribute to regional and Association-wide initiatives, special projects, and leadership activities that support organizational success.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Generally, seven or more years of lending experience, including at least five or more years working with large and complex agricultural accounts.
- Previous leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in credit administration, loan servicing, and agricultural lending.
- In-depth knowledge of credit policies, lending standards, procedures, and financial products.
- Strong business development, consultative sales, and relationship management skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and coaching abilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively navigate challenging customer situations and lead through change.
- Ability to travel independently throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.

The salary range for this position is $97,900 to $146,900 with a midpoint of $122,400. This range reflects current market compensation data and our commitment to competitive, equitable pay. The starting rate is based on the applicant’s relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Most new hires are offered a starting rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range, although placement elsewhere in the range may be appropriate based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
