About this role

UL Solutions' Energy & Industrial Automation (E&IA) division supports some of the world's most innovative manufacturers in bringing safe, reliable and compliant products to global markets. Our engineers work across a broad range of technologies that are driving the future of industry, including industrial automation, energy systems, power conversion, motor drives, control equipment, robotics and intelligent industrial devices.

Within the Arnhem team, as a Project Engineer you’ll specialise in the evaluation and certification of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial control systems, electronic interfaces and variable speed drive technologies used throughout modern manufacturing, energy and infrastructure environments.

These products form the backbone of Industry 4.0, enabling automation, machine safety, connectivity and operational efficiency across factories and industrial facilities worldwide.

Working directly with leading global manufacturers, you'll combine engineering, testing, project management and customer interaction to help certify products against internationally recognised standards such as IEC/EN 61010 and IEC/EN 61800, ensuring they meet the requirements for global markets.

Required

- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with, or exposure to, IEC/EN 61010 and/or IEC/EN 61800 standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical or electronic products, industrial control systems, drives, automation equipment or power electronics.
- Excellent project management and customer communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer locations and test facilities.

We'd Love to See

- 2+ years' experience in testing, certification, compliance, product development, industrial automation or electrical engineering.
- Experience working directly with customers in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with CE marking, conformity assessment and international product safety standards.
- Exposure to laboratory testing, environmental testing or product evaluation activities.
- Dutch language skills are advantageous but not essential.

Graduate Applications Welcome

We're also keen to hear from recent graduates with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field who are looking to develop a specialist career in testing, certification and product safety. Full training and mentoring will be provided.
